Summary
The year is 2268 and it's not going to be a good year for Captain James T. Kirk. Over the coming months, Kirk will have his memory erased, be forced to take part in the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, be caught between alternating universes, have his personal time accelerated so that he appears invisible to his crew, be tortured by sadistic Vians, have his body swapped for that of a beautiful woman, and be "killed" by his Vulcan First Officer. While the Enterprise faces Romulan warships, Klingon warriors, an asteroid on a collision course, and adventures beyond the edge of the galaxy, its crew must deal with insane shape-shifting criminals, mass murderers, interplanetary "hippie" revolutionaries, and beings with the power to kill crewmen merely by touching them
